CLEVELAND (WJW) — As Northeast Ohio digs out of a winter storm, many cities still have parking bans, and snow emergencies are still in effect for several counties.
Snow emergencies
- Ashland County: The sheriff’s office issued a Level 3 snow emergency. All roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel. No one should be driving unless it is absolutely necessary or a personal emergency exists.
- Crawford County: The sheriff’s office has issued a Level 2 snow emergency.
- Delaware County: The sheriff’s office has issued a Level 3 snow emergency due to hazardous conditions.
- Erie County: The sheriff’s office has now issued a Level 2 winter weather road condition advisory.
- Franklin County: The sheriff’s office has issued a Level 2 snow emergency for the area
- Holmes County: There is a Level 2 snow emergency for all streets.
- Huron County: The sheriff’s office has issued a Level 2 snow advisory for the area.
- Lorain County: The sheriff’s office has issued a Level 1 snow emergency due to hazardous roadways.
- Lucas County: The sheriff’s office has issued a Level 2 snow advisory.
- Medina County: The sheriff’s office has issued a Level 2 snow emergency for the area. Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow and or icy conditions. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be out on the roadways. Contact your employer to see if you should report to work.
- Portage County: The sheriff’s office has issued a Level 2 snow emergency due to hazardous roadways.
- Richland County: The sheriff’s office has issued a level 3 snow emergency due to hazardous road conditions.
- Sandusky County: The sheriff’s office has now issued a Level 2 snow emergency.
- Summit County: Summit County is under a Level 2 snow emergency.
- Wayne County: Level 2 snow emergency. Blowing and drifting snow are making for hazardous travel

- Akron: The city of Akron’s snow parking ban is in effect until further notice.
- Amherst: In effect through Friday at 5 p.m.
- Aurora: Police reminded residents to “never park in the roadway during a snow event.”
- Bath: The city’s parking ban is in effect until noon Friday.
- Bay Village: In effect until further notice.
- Beachwood: The mayor has declared a snow emergency for the city. Vehicles should not be parked on city streets until the emergency is lifted.
- Bedford: The city’s parking ban is in effect through Friday at 5 p.m.
- Brunswick: In effect through Saturday at 6 p.m.
- Canton: Canton’s snow parking ban is in effect through 12:01 p.m. Sunday.
- Cleveland: City officials announced a parking ban is in effect through 8 a.m. Saturday.
- Cleveland Heights: A parking ban is now in effect through 7 a.m. Friday.
- Cuyahoga Falls: A parking ban is in effect through 10 a.m. Saturday.
- East Cleveland: The city has issued a parking ban for all designated snow emergency streets through 2 p.m. Saturday.
- Elyria: The city’s parking ban is in effect through Sunday at 6 a.m. Anyone with questions can call the Safety Service Director’s office at 440-326-1404.
- Euclid: A parking ban is in effect until further notice.
- Garfield Heights: A snow parking ban is in effect through Friday morning.
- Grafton: In effect through midnight Friday. No parking on streets during that time.
- Green: In effect until 8 a.m. Saturday.
- Highland Heights: The city’s snow parking ban is in effect until further notice.
- Maple Heights: The citywide parking ban is in effect until further notice.
- Munroe Falls: The city is issuing a parking ban on all city streets through noon Friday.
- Newburgh Heights: The city announced their parking ban lasts until Saturday at 8 a.m.
- North Olmsted: North Olmsted is under a snow parking ban through Friday.
- North Ridgeville: A parking ban is in effect through noon on Friday.
- Lakewood: A parking ban is in effect until further notice. Police will begin ticketing and towing vehicles in violation starting at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday
- Lyndhurst: The city announced a parking ban for Thursday.
- Oak Harbor: A parking ban is in effect until further notice.
- Oberlin: In effect until further notice.
- Orange Village: The city’s parking ban is in effect until 7 a.m. Friday
- Parma: A parking ban is now in effect until further notice.
- Port Clinton: A snow emergency has been issued for the city until further notice. All vehicles must be removed from city streets.
- Ravenna: All city streets are under a snow parking ban until further notice.
- Rocky River: A parking ban goes into effect as soon as snow reaches 2 inches or more.
- Sandusky: Residents parking their cars on emergency snow routes are asked to move their vehicles ahead of storm, when parking ban goes into effect.
- Sagamore Hills: The city’s parking ban is set through Friday at 1 p.m.
- Seven Hills: A snow parking ban is in effect through Thursday.
- Silver Lake: Starting at midnight Thursday; will last until Friday at 4 p.m.
- South Amherst: The city is calling for all vehicles to be removed from city streets. City offices are also closed Thursday and Friday.
- South Russell Village: A parking ban is in effect until further notice.
- Tallmadge: The parking ban is in effect until Friday.
- Vermilion: Conditions will be re-evaluated Friday as to when to lift the ban that started Wednesday.
- Wadsworth: A parking ban has been issued until all snow plow operations are finished.
- Warren: A parking ban is in effect until further notice.
- Warrensville Heights: The parking ban is in effect through Saturday at 7 a.m.
- Waynesburg: A snow parking ban is in effect through Friday at 4 p.m.
- Wellington: The city is asking people to “please make arrangements to park your vehicles somewhere other than the streets” from Wednesday through Friday. A parking ban is in effect as soon as snow hits 2 inches.
- Westlake: A citywide parking ban is now in effect until further notice, the city announced.
- Willoughby: Residents are asked to avoid parking on the street during the snow event.
- Windham: A parking ban is in effect through midnight Friday.
Residents who do not move their cars from city streets that have issued parking bans risk receiving a ticket or even getting towed. The bans are put in place so snow plows can more quickly and efficiently remove snow from roads.
