CLEVELAND -- Fox 8's Dick Goddard received a much-deserved surprise on Thursday afternoon.

The Cleveland Browns radio team of Doug Deacon and Jim Donovan stopped by the Fox 8 studios to deliver a specially made game ball with Dick's picture on it - as a way to thank him for his years with the team.

Dick has been a part of the Cleveland Browns since 1966.

For 43 years, he was at every home game performing his duties as the team's official statistician.

Dick's duties included recording each play, net yards gained or lost, tackles, pass attempts, and the list goes on.

He then would deliver this information on a second's notice to whomever was calling the game.

It was not an easy task by any means, but one he loved and did to perfection.

This season Dick handed over his duties to someone else, and the ball was a token of thanks.
