Ubaldo Jimenez was touched for a pair of Royals homers and the Indians never recovered in dropping a 8-2 decision to Kansas City on Wednesday night. The win snapped a 12-game Royals losing skid.

Jimenez gave up a two-run homer to Billy Butler in the first inning as the Royals took a 2-0 lead.

Jimenez gave up a two-run shot to Eric Hosmer in the fifth. It was 4-0 and the Indians bats did not have any kind of answer.

Jimenez lasted six innings and gave up six hits and those four earned runs. He took the loss and is now 2-1.

Travis Hafner’s grounder in the sixth and an Aaron Cunningham single in the seventh accounted for the Cleveland runs.

In the top of the ninth inning, the Royals feasted on Indians reliever Jairo Asencio, who gave up a three-run shot to Alex Gordon, followed by a solo homer to Billy Butler.

Indians drop to 9-7 on the year and will host the Royals on Thursday at noon at Progressive Field.
