BEREA, Ohio (WJW)– Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was excused from Wednesday’s practice.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski said Beckham was not in the building, and his representatives were in discussions with Browns general manager Andrew Berry. Stefanski would not comment on if OBJ asked to be released.

“I think we work really hard in this building to concern ourselves with things that are going on in this building and concern ourselves with the Cincinnati Bengals, and that’s really where we get laser focused at the task at hand,” Stefanski said.

NFL insider Mike Silver reported Stefanski told players Wednesday morning that Beckham is not with the team right now. When asked about it, Stefanski had no comment.

Beckham had one reception for 6 yards during the Browns 15-10 loss to the Steelers on Sunday. Now, the team is preparing for the Cincinnati Bengals, but the star wideout’s status with the team remains murky.

Beckham has been limited in practice with a shoulder injury recently. However, this news comes one day after Beckham’s father posted a video on Instagram that seemed critical of Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield. It shows several times Mayfield didn’t throw the ball to OBJ.

“No reaction. I would just say social media in general, I’m not on it. I’m aware of things that are on there. I just think in general, we talk about  ignoring the noise in our building and there’s a lot of things on social media that we need to ignore,” Stefanski said.
