BEREA, Ohio (WJW / AP) – Saturday wrapped the 2023 NFL Draft.
After sitting around through the first two rounds, the Cleveland Browns finally made some picks Friday night and really got down to business Saturday with more picks.
Here is who the team drafted:
Cameron Mitchell
Cornerback Cameron Mitchell from Northwestern will join the Browns in 2023.
Mitchell was the 142 overall pick in Round 5 of the draft.
He is 5’ 11’’ and weighs 191 pounds.
According to the Browns, Mitchell is a close friend of Browns’ Cornerback Greg Newsome II.
The team said, Mitchell “was a two-year starter at Northwestern and led the Wildcats with 10 pass breakups in his final season. He totaled two interceptions across his college career and had 52 tackles in 2022. He also was named an honorable mention for the All-Big Ten squad in his last two seasons.”

Dorian Thompson-Robinson
The Cleveland Browns have added UCLA Quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson to their 2023 roster. He was the 140th overall pick in Round 5 of the draft.
Thompson-Robinson is 6’ 2’’ and 203 pounds.
According to the Browns, “Thompson-Robinson was a five-year starter at UCLA and steadily improved across his college career. He built his best season in 2022 and completed 69.6% of his passes for 3,169 yards and 27 touchdowns — all of which were career-highs. He was a second-team All-Pac 12 selection in his third and fourth seasons.”

The Browns say, Thompson also has a knack for running the ball.
“He carried the ball 470 times for 1,827 yards (3.9 yards per carry) and scored 28 rushing touchdowns. He scored 12 touchdowns on the ground his final season. Thompson departed UCLA as the program’s all-time passing leader in total offensive yards (12,537), completions (860), touchdown passes (88) and total touchdowns (116),” said the Browns on their website.
Thompson-Robinson is the Browns’ fourth quarterback.
Isaiah McGuire
The Browns have selected Defensive End Isaiah McGuire. He was the 126th overall pick.
McGuire is 6’ 4’’ and 268 pounds.
According to the Browns, McGuire was a dominant starter in his final two college seasons with the Missouri Tigers.
McGuire led the Tigers with six sacks in 2021 and led them again with 7.5 sacks in 2022 and was a second-team All-SEC selection in 2022. McGuire also totaled 27 tackles for a loss in his final two college seasons.

McGuire is the second defensive linemen the Browns have drafted in 2023. He joins third-round pick Siaki Ika.
Dawand Jones
As their first pick on the final day of the draft, the Browns selected Tackle Dawand Jones. He was the 111th overall pick.
Jones was a two-year starter at Ohio State.
He is 6’8″ and 374 pounds with an 87-inch wingspan.

According to the Browns, Jones primarily played right tackle with the Buckeyes and was a second-team All-American and third-team All-Big Ten selection in 2022 when he didn’t allow a single sack.
Cedric Tillman
The Browns drafted wide receiver Cedric Tillman from the University of Tennessee in Round 3. He was the No. 74 overall pick.
Tillman, 6’3″ and 213 pounds, is a strong wideout with great hands. He was Tennessee’s breakout star who dealt with an ankle injury last season.

Tillman quickly became a favorite target of quarterback Hendon Hooker in 2021 and in 12 games, he had 64 catches for over 1,000 yards and 12 touchdowns. He ended the year grabbing 41 passes for 787 yards and nine scores in the final six games.
The past season, he has three touchdowns while dealing with an ankle injury.
“I’m fired up,” Tillman said on a conference call with Cleveland media. “Deshaun Watson is one of the best quarterbacks in the league. I’m really looking forward getting to all my teammates and new brothers and new coaches and stuff, so I’m excited.”
Siaki Ika
The Browns picked Siaki Ika, a defensive tackle from Baylor University. He was the 98th overall pick.
He’s 6’3″ and 335 pounds.
After transferring to Baylor for the 2021 season, Ika made 24 tackles, six for loss with four sacks, in 13 games that year.
In 2022, he made 24 tackles, two for loss, two pass breakups, while starting in 11 of 12 games for Baylor.

Luke Wypler
Center Luke Wypler, who originally hails from New Jersey, comes to the Browns from the Ohio State University.
He was picked 190th overall in the sixth round.

The Browns were supposed to make the 229th pick overall, but instead opted to make a trade with the Baltimore Ravens for a Round 6 pick next year. With that, the Browns have no more 2023 draft picks. They drafted 7 players in this year’s draft.

How the draft will play out for the Browns:
The draft officially began on Thursday, but the Browns did not have any picks in the first or second round this year.
Cleveland used the first and second-round picks this year in acquiring quarterback Deshaun Watson from the Houston Texans last year and New York Jets wide receiver Elijah Moore this offseason.
The Jets, by the way, used that second-round pick as part of their trade with the Green Bay Packers for quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
The Browns had eight picks in this year’s draft.
Here was the Browns’ draft order:
- Round 3 – No. 74 overall
- Round 3 – No. 98 overall
