CLEVELAND- The Cleveland Browns started off the season with a loss, Sunday afternoon, at FirstEnergy Stadium; the Miami Dolphins won, 23-10.

Some fans who headed to the Muni Lot to root on the Browns had to find a new location to hold their tailgating festivities.

The lot was closed around 9:30 a.m. Sunday because it was at full capacity.

The Cleveland Division of Police asked fans to find alternate parking when heading down to the stadium.

The Rob Chudzinski era began today, when the Browns welcomed Miami to town.

The 44-year-old was tabbed as the “Top Dawg” after an 11-day search for Browns Owner Jimmy Haslam III and CEO Joe Banner back on January 11.

Chudzinski spent time on two prior coaching staffs with the Browns, a team he grew up rooting for as youngster; he was born in Toledo, Ohio.

“I am excited about this opportunity. I am excited about the chance to bring back what I grew up in and the feeling this city, this region, this area, had in the Cleveland Browns,” he said recently.

“This is why we do all of these things.  This is why we work so hard.  The team has prepared, as well.  I can’t ask any more from them and what they’ve done.  It’s going to be an exciting day for us, and I’m looking forward to it.”

Quarterback Brandon Weeden will get the call under center.  He seemed to put together a pretty solid pre-season, after going 5-10 as the starter in his rookie campaign.  Under Pat Shurmur, Weeden showed flashes of promise. He threw for just under 3400 yards and 14 touchdowns, but was intercepted 17 times.

“We’ve come along since last year, we added some big pieces to put together the foundation of a pretty good team”, Weeden proudly said.  “We did some good things in the pre-season, and I’m looking to improve on that when the games matter, I’m excited”.

Running back Trent Richardson had a quite pre-season, but is deemed healthy and ready to run.  He rushed for 950 yards a season ago, while hitting the end zone 11 times.

Richardson along with wide receiver Josh Gordon should flourish in the new look Browns offense under Norv Turner.

The first year play caller’s NFL pedigree included stints in Dallas, Washington, & San Diego, where his offense was in the top tier of the league year in and year out.

Top free agent Paul Krueger along with Quentin Groves and Desmond Bryant lead the defense under new coordinator Ray Horton.

The Browns will now run a 3-4 unit, with hopes of putting constant pressure on the opposing quarterback.

One player who will seem to do that is rookie linebacker Barkevious Mingo.  He will miss Sunday’s game after recovering from a bruised lung.
