LeBron James Celebrates ‘Wheels for Education’ in Akron

AKRON, Ohio — Basketball star LeBron James celebrated the start of a brand new school year with Wheels for Education students in Akron on Sunday.

Students took part in on-field activities during an Akron Aeros game and received school supplies and other gear–including new bicycles and uniforms.The students are part of the second wave of kids participating in Wheels for Education, with kids admitted last year taking part in the festivities as well.

The LeBron James Family Foundation, along with Akron Public Schools, teaches students in the Wheels for Education program how to be a good student while living a healthy lifestyle.

The Wheels for Education program, which serves as part of the LeBron James Family Foundation, was founded in 2011 and serves 536 Akron students.
