CLEVELAND – The Lake Erie Monsters defeated the Hershey Bears in overtime, winning the Calder Cup Finals.
They scored with just 1.9 seconds left on the clock.
The Monsters played extremely strong throughout the playoffs, going into Game 4 leading the series 3-0.
The game was scoreless through all 3 periods, taking the game into overtime.
They won their first series over the Grand Rapids Griffins 4-2 and swept the Ontario Reign in the last round.
This is Cleveland’s first Calder Cup Championship in 52 years and Lake Erie’s first AHL title in team history.
