CLEVELAND – It’s a fact of life that until school is out and the weather gets a bit warmer, weeknight Indians’ games are sometimes tough to fit into the schedule. So the Indians are trying something different next week to try to help out some of those conflicts.

Each game in next week’s series against the Kansas City Royals will be starting at 6:10 p.m., which is an hour earlier than a typical weeknight game starts. The Tribe says that the earlier start will help avoid weather issues (and we all know how cold it gets at night here in April) and to help families with children who come to the games to get home earlier on school nights.

The new right field gate will open at 4 p.m. for each game, all the other gates will open at 5p.m.

The full schedule of 6:10PM weekday games is as follows:

  • Monday, April 27 vs. KC
  • Tuesday, April 28 vs. KC
  • Wednesday, April 29 vs. KC
  • Tuesday, May 12 vs. St. Louis
  • Wednesday, May 13 vs. St. Louis
