CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Indians continued their losing ways on Friday night.
The Texas Rangers beat them 5-3 at Progressive Field.
The Rangers took a 1-0 lead against Indians pitcher Ubaldo Jiminez in the first inning and never looked back.
The Rangers were ahead 5-1 in the ninth inning when Casey Kotchman blasted a two-run home run for the Tribe, making the final score 5-3.
The Indians finished the month of August with one of the worst one-month records in Major League Baseball history.
They end the month with a 5-24 record.
The Indians will try to get back on track Saturday night against Texas at Progressive Field.
