CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Indians’ West Coast trip was a complete failure.
The Wahoos dropped all 6 games thanks to a Wednesday night loss of 7-1 to the Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim.
Starter C.J. Wilson handcuffed the Indians hitters, going 8 innings, allowing only 2 hits and one run. He struck out 8.
Indians starter Zach McAllister only lasted 4 and one third innings, allowing 4 hits and 5 runs. He walked 4 and struck out 5.
Cleveland took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning when David Murphy singled home Asdrubal Cabrera.
The Angels answered in the bottom of the same inning, when Hank Conger hit a 2 run homer. In the third, Albert Pujols hit a sacrifice fly to make it a 3-1 game.
The Angels exploded in the 5th and 6th innings, scoring 4 runs to put the game away. David Freese drove in two runs on a single in the 5th and in the sixth, Mike Trout plated a pair of runs with a line drive double to center field.
The Indians come home to an off day Thursday, and then open a home series at Progressive Field on Friday night against the Central Division Chicago White Sox.
