CHICAGO — Russ Canzler, homered and collected 3 hits while Corey Kluber starred on the mound to lift the Cleveland Indians to a 4-3 Tuesday afternoon victory over the Chicago White Sox in the Windy City.
Canzler homered in the 2nd inning with the bases empty and the Indians offense was on its way. In the 4th, the Tribe added three more runs as Neal grounded into a fielder’s choice to plate the second run, while Carerra and Choo added RBI singles.
Chicago got two runs in the 5th inning as Pierzynski and Viciedo hit solo shots.
In the bottom of the ninth inning, reliever Chris Perez gave up a homer to Paul Konerko to make things very tense and tight.
With two men on, Perez was able to get the last out and record his 37th save of the year.
Kluber went 7 innings and pitched very well. He allowed 4 hits and two runs while striking out 4. He upped his record to 2-4.
The Indians and White Sox play the final game of their 3 game series on Wednesday night.
