(WJW) — FOX 8’s award-winning Friday Night Touchdown is back for its 27th season and better than ever.

Week #10, the 2023 regular season finale of Friday Night Touchdown, airs this Friday, Oct. 20 at 11 p.m.

The polls are closed and the final FOX 8 Game of the Week of the 2023 regular season is Mogadore at Rootstown.

It’s a battle for first place in the Portage Trail Conference.

Mogadore (7-2, 3-0) and Rootstown (8-0, 3-0) are both still undefeated in conference play.

The Wildcats and Rovers have also both clinched OHSAA Playoff spots in Division VI, Region 21.

Rootstown is only allowing 12 points per game, while Mogadore’s defense slightly stingier, allowing just 10.8 points per game.

Rootstown is ranked 6th in the most recent Division VI AP Poll, but the Rovers have lost five straight to Mogadore dating back to 2018.

Whoever wins Friday night will clinch the PTC Championship, as well as at least one home game in the OHSAA Playoffs, which kick off next week.

Join P.J. Ziegler, Ken Carman, John Telich, the Commissioner Dan Coughlin, and new addition John Sabol, every Friday night for 30 minutes of highlights and analysis from the biggest high school football games across Northeast Ohio.

Each week during the 2023 high school football regular season we will nominate four great match-ups for our FOX 8 Game of the Week.

We will announce the winning game live every Thursday night on FOX 8 News at 10 p.m.
