CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns lost against the Seattle Seahawks 32 to 28.

Cleveland kicked off against Seattle at 1 p.m. Sunday in FirstEnergy Stadium.

Seattle won the coin toss and elected to defer to the second half.

The Browns started off strong. Running back Dontrell Hilliard returned the ball to the Seattle 23-yard line on the opening kickoff.  Then, running back Nick Chubb scored a touchdown on a 7 yard run.  The Browns led Seattle 7-0.

Then Seattle put points on the board when running back Russell Wilson rushed 16 yards for goal.  Placekicker Jason Myers missed the kick and the Browns still had a 7-6 lead over the Seahawks.

Cleveland grew their lead over Seattle when quarterback Baker Mayfield took off with the middle of the field wide open to get his first rushing touchdown of the season and his career.  The score was 14-6 at this point.

The Browns were first to score in the second quarter when tight end Ricky Seals-Jones scored a touchdown on a 31-yard pass from Mayfield.  Placekicker Austin Seibert missed the extra point. Cleveland led Seattle 20-6.

Seattle then added a 38-yard field goal, kicked by Myers, to cut the Browns’ lead. Then Myers kicked a 20-yard field goal, raising the score 20-12.

Then, with 27 seconds left to play in the first half, wide receiver Jaron Brown scored a touchdown on 17-yard pass from Wilson.  The Seahawks attempted a two-point conversion and failed. Cleveland led the Seahawks 20-18 at halftime.

Mayfield was limping after he ran for a first down in the third quarter.  He has left the field and went to the locker room. He has returned to the field and is clear to play, but was evaluated for a left hip injury.
