BEREA, Ohio- The Browns waived Cleveland native and Glenville High School graduate Shane Wynn on Monday, the team announced.

The rookie wide receiver was undrafted out of Indiana University. He told FOX 8 News in July it would be an honor to make his hometown team.

“That would be big for the hometown and me and my family,” Wynn said. “Struggle a while to make the team, it would be an honor and all I can do is keep working.”

Browns head coach Mike Pettine seemed skeptical of the 5-foot-6 wideout early on in training camp.

“He has the skill set you need when you have the lack of height, the suddenness, the ability to separate. And I’ll be curious to see what he can do in a live situation when he gets the ball in his hands,” Pettine said last month.

The Browns also waived tight end Anthony Ezeakunne, and terminated contracts for Everette Brown, Moise Fokou, Jalen Parmele and Aaron Ross.
