INDEPENDENCE, Ohio- Iman Shumpert will miss 12 to 14 weeks after injuring his wrist, the Cleveland Cavaliers announced on Tuesday.
An MRI at the Cleveland Clinic on Monday revealed the guard suffered a ruptured extensor carpi ulanris sheath in his right wrist. He will have surgery on Wednesday.
During the team’s media day on Monday, Shumpert said he worked on his ball handling in the off season. When asked about his injuries, he told reporters he felt “OK.”
He recently announced he and his girlfriend are expecting their first child.
