WASHINGTON D.C. — The Cleveland Cavaliers hit the road before their game Saturday in not the best of shape.
The team fell to 3-7 on the season after losing at home to the Bobcats and left for Washington D.C. looking to bounce back with a first road win of the season.
Among rumors of tension mounting between players and continuous frustration for returning head coach Mike Brown, the Cavs pulled off a come-from-behind victory over the Washington Wizards at the Verizon Center, 103-96.
The biggest obstacle for the Cavs in recent games was finding a functional defense, but after trailing the entire game, the Cavs were able to catch up with the Wizards in the 4th quarter, sending the match into overtime, tied at 90-90. In the end, the Cavs snagged the much-needed win.
Kyrie Irving led the Cavs, tying his career high 41 points.
The Cavaliers get a three-day break. They’ll take on the Wizards again on Wednesday at home.
