CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Cavaliers are celebrating the legacy of one of the team’s most influential players with a jersey retirement ceremony.
Former Cavs Center Zydrunas Ilgauskas will be honored on Saturday, March 8, at 7:30 p.m. during the Cavaliers match up against the New York Knicks.
Doors to the Quicken Loans Arena will open at 5:30 p.m., and a special one-time-only player introduction video will be played to commemorate the occasion. The half-time ceremony will include a 3-D video image of key moments in Ilgauskas’ NBA career.
Ilgauskas, affectionately called “Z” by Cavs fans, will have his #11 jersey hung from the rafters inside Quicken Loans Arena. The 7’3″ center hails from Lithuania, and was drafted by the Cavs in the first round of the 1996 draft.
