AUBURN HILLS – The Cleveland Cavaliers took out the Detroit Pistons with a win in Game 4 Sunday night, 100-98.

The Cavaliers struggled once again in the early minutes, but they caught up and took the lead for a brief moment as the quarter came to a close. The Pistons had the lead to start the second quarter.

The second quarter was a bit stronger for the Cavs, but the lead switched several times. The Cavs came away ahead, leading 53-52 at the half.

The Cavs lead most of the third quarter as well, and even went on quite a run at one point, having an 11-point lead at one time. Kyrie Irving grabbed the Cavs an 81-78 lead with a buzzer-beater half court shot to end the quarter.

The fourth quarter was solid for the Cavs, Irving and J.R. Smith were both solid as the game ended, giving the Cavs the win.

With Sunday’s win the Cavaliers advance and LeBron James’ teams now have their 17th consecutive first-round playoff win.

The first three wins were big for the Cavs. They often struggled in the first quarter but pulled together as a team as the games continued. In Game 2, the Cavs tied an NBA record for the most 3-pointers in a playoff game.

The Cavaliers will now play the winner of the Boston Celtics vs. Atlanta Hawks series. The series is tied 2-2.
