NEW YORK CITY — The NFL Draft wrapped up Saturday with the Cleveland Browns stockpiling picks for next season, drafting two defensive players and an offensive lineman.

The Browns traded their fourth round pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers, who the Browns haven’t traded with since — it is believed — 1968.

In return, the Browns received the Steelers’ third round pick in 2014.

In the fifth round, the Browns again traded away their pick, this time to Indianapolis acquiring in the Colts’ fourth round pick next year.

In the sixth round, the Browns finally made a move, selecting safety Jamoris Slaughter, of Notre Dame. Slaughter missed 10 games in 2012 with a ruptured Achilles.

He is 6 feet tall, weighs 195 pounds and is a solid pass defender. His one weakness, according to draft experts, is that he lacks a true position.

In the seventh round, the Browns had two picks. The first one went to defensive end Armonty Bryant from East Central Oklahoma. Bryant is 6’3, 263 pounds and is coming off right shoulder surgery.

He had 26.5 sacks and was arrested in October on a felony charge of marijuana. When asked about his recent arrest, Bryant responded: “Good people make mistakes, and I won’t let anyone down.”

Just minutes later, the Browns were back on the clock, and this time they drafted offensive tackle Garrett Gilkey, of Chadron State. Gilkey is 6’5, 318 pounds and is considered to be a very good run-blocker. He started 12 games at left tackle last season and can play anywhere on the line.

The NFL Draft ended with the Colts selecting tight end Justice Cunningham from South Carolina.

The last person drafted is usually referred to as Mr. Irrelevant.
