CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Browns beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 21-7. This is the first time Cleveland has beat Pittsburgh in five years.
Cleveland made quick work of their first possession with a 42-yard pass play to Odell Beckham Jr. He was marked down on the 1-yard line. Baker Mayfield took it in himself for the touchdown. It’s his second rushing TD of the season.
The Steelers missed a field goal attempt to keep the score at 7-0. The Browns would go on to have three missed field goals of their own.
In the second quarter, the Browns drove 77 yards down the field, thanks in part, to a huge catch by KhaDarel Hodge. A pass interference call on former Brown Joe Haden put Cleveland on the 1-yard line and a quick pass to Jarvis Landry made the score 14-0.

The Browns defense was solid in the first half. Cornerback Denzel Ward tipped the ball and safety Morgan Burnett was there for the interception. Unfortunately, the Browns were unable to capitalize as Austin Seibert missed the field goal.
It was a similar story in the third quarter after Joe Schobert intercepted Mason Rudolph. It did not result in a Browns score.

The Browns had three penalties, including one that sent Damarious Randall packing, during the Steelers scoring drive. He was ejected for a hit on the defenseless receiver. Diontae Johnson became the second Pittsburgh wideout to go to the locker room for a possible concussion, joining JuJu Smith-Schuester.
Schobert had his second pick of the game midway through the fourth quarter. Tight end Stephen Carlson made a terrific catch on third down to get the Browns another TD.
