CLEVELAND — The waiting game can’t be fun at all for Browns cornerback Joe Haden.

Browns president Mike Holmgren revealed in a radio interview on Tuesday morning that Haden had already had his appeal hearing with the league for the drug suspension and was waiting for a response.

Holmgren told 923TheFan, the team did not know the results of the appeal.

Haden was suspended for testing positive for the drug Adderall, according to in July.

Holmgren seemed in the dark on the procedure the league was following. He felt if the team had not heard by Tuesday, the team would have Haden’s services this coming Sunday.

One thing to remember: if a player wins his appeal, the league will not announce he was suspended.  That way, according to an NFL spokesman the player’s privacy is protected.

Haden would argue, with his name in the news, that privacy was not part of this equation.

Teammates say they back Haden, but that, as Usama Young told Fox 8, it’s up to the team management and coaches to handle the situation.
