TAMPA BAY , FL – The Cleveland Browns take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in preseason play tonight down in Florida.
Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel will not play in tonight’s game because of soreness in his right elbow. He’s also been sidelined for the last exhibition game on September 3rd in Chicago.
Manziel has dealt with elbow soreness since high school. The Browns are hoping rest will alleviate his issues. Pettine said Manziel realizes sitting out is “smart” so he doesn’t make the condition worse.
The Browns signed quarterback Pat Devlin on Thursday. Devlin is 6’3″ tall and 220 pounds. He is officially in his third NFL season out of Delaware.
Browns’ coach Mike Pettine says that he plans on playing most of the starters through tonight’s first half, and some into the third quarter.
