CLEVELAND– The Cleveland Indians won their 8th straight game on Thursday afternoon, a 6-1 decision over the Chicago White Sox.
Cleveland capped off a perfect home stand, taking 3 games from the Texas Rangers and 4 from Chicago.
The star at Progressive Field was right fielder Ryan Raburn, getting the start as Terry Francona gave Michael Bourn the day off.
Bourn and All Star Jason Kipnis each got a break against the usually tough left hander, Chris Sale.
The Indians, however, roughed up Sale for ten hits and five runs.
Raburn ripped a pair of homers, one of them a two-run shot in the 3rd and the second round tripper, a solo homer in the 7th inning. Raburn ended up 3 for 4 with 4 RBIs on the day.
Justin Masterson pitched like the All Star he is, going 6 and two thirds innings, allowing 5 hits, just one run while striking out 7 batters. He raised his record to 13-7.
The Indians will be in Miami for a weekend series with the Marlins starting Friday night.
