He was Shot Down by the Japanese, Captured and taken as POW, died from neglect of burns, Buried in Burma, in 1946 his remains were put on a C47 to come home and that plane went down in bad weather and never found. A Vietnam vet that was never honored for his service found peace in the honor flight. God bless you David I miss you every day. My father joined at 17 and my uncle Gil- the only brother still living- will be 99 in March. His son, also a veteran, was able to get him on an honor flight shortly after my dads death in 2015. As a mother myself, before the days of cell phones, Facebook, email and computers- I can’t imagine having 5 of your sons in harms way like that at the same time halfway across the world. All 5 brothers were very proud of their military service. As are all their children grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
