  • 6 yolks
  • 3 eggs
  • 8 oz. sugar
  • 1 Quart Heavy Cream
  • Pinch of salt
  • Enough bread to fill two bunt pans
  • ½ cup walnuts
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • ½ cup salted caramel
  • Butter – for bunt pans
  • Sugar – for bunt pans



Take bread and tear into chunks. Toast bread in oven at 300 degrees until golden brown (about 5 minutes).

Mix eggs, egg yolks, vanilla and sugar in mixing bowl. Heat heavy cream in small sauce pan to 160 degrees, slowly add hot milk to egg mixture stirring constantly.

Butter and sugar casserole dish. Place bread in casserole pan, pour custard and salted caramel over bread and let sit for 20 minutes. Add more custard as needed until bread has absorbed as much custard as possible.

Toss walnuts on top of bread and bake in oven for 35 minutes or until middle of monkey bread reaches 150 degrees.
