The play “Yentl” is on stage now at the Cleveland Playhouse. Rebecca Gibel, who play’s “Yentl” and Samuel Cohen who plays “Yentl’s Father” both joined us!
“Yentl” is the story of a Jewish girl named Yentl, who wishes only to study the Torah and other religious texts, which her religion forbids her to do. Her father secretly lets her study these texts and after his death, she disguises herself as a man so she can continue her studies at an all-male school for boys, also known as a yeshiva. Yentl takes her lie so far that she even manages to marry a beautiful woman from the town, only to eventually break down and confess to her best friend, Avigdor, that she is in fact a woman.
The show is running now through February 2, 2014.

The hospital is investing $124 million to expand it’s ability to care for the critical needs of each patient.
