A singer from Cuyahoga Falls made waves last week when her poor “American Idol” audition was broadcast to a national audience. She was bashed by the judges.

Jessica Whitely, a 19-year-old college student, visited Fox 8 News In The Morning today to set the record straight.

Jessica admitted to Fox 8’s Stefani Schaefer that the tryout went badly. However, she also said that what viewers saw on television was not exactly how things unfolded in real life.

She advanced through three previous auditions, performing well in each round. What viewers saw on TV was her fourth audition — the bad one.

In addition to chatting on the morning show, Jessica got up and redeemed herself with a solid performance (watch the video clip, above).
