YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio– Students at Youngstown State University came together to cover up a disturbing message found on the campus Monday morning.

Pro-ISIS sayings like “France deserves destruction” and “We are coming” were painted on a rock at YSU. The university said the FBI was notified as a precaution, but there is no credible threat to the school.

Monday afternoon, students responded by painting over the threatening graffiti with new messages, including “God bless America” and “World peace.” The group of about 40 also held a brief ceremony.

University President Jim Tressel called those students leaders, “because it takes a true leader to paint the rock in daylight.”

Youngstown State University police are investigating the threats and reviewing surveillance video.  Anyone with information should call the Youngstown State University Police Department at 330-941-3527 or go to
