GREEN, OHIO – Season Kerman is lucky to be alive after getting hit by a car on Saturday morning.
“When I try to close my eyes I have flashbacks and nightmares because I don’t know how he could just leave not knowing if he killed me,” said Kerman.
The mother of two was jogging down State Route 619 when she was knocked off the side of the road.
Several people ran to her aid and she was rushed to Akron General Hospital. There, doctors performed emergency surgery on her foot. It was broken in three places. She also had a lacerated liver.
“I don’t know that I’ll ever be able to go back to running. I’m a marathon runner. Running is my life,” she said while fighting back tears.
Her husband Nicholas said it’s hard to see her in the hospital, and is disgusted that the driver didn’t even stop to see if she was okay.
“I didn’t realize until we had gotten here that the vehicle had kept going. I thought that with all the traffic and everything that he was there, so I was very surprised how somebody could do that and step back from that. I don’t know how you could go to sleep with yourself at night,” he said.
“It doesn’t matter, yeah you turned yourself in and you might get a slap on the wrist, but it doesn’t pale in comparison to what I’m laying here dealing with. You could’ve stopped. You could’ve stopped to see if I was okay,” said Season.
