MACEDONIA, Ohio — An arrest has been made in the robbery of an elderly woman, weeks after the crime occurred, Macedonia police said Thursday.
Kimberly Tromski, 43, of Uniontown, is charged with robbery and felonious assault.
Detectives say she robbed, then knocked an 82-year-old woman to the ground on the property of Giant Eagle on East Aurora Road. The elderly woman was hurt in the attack, although police did not disclose the nature of her injuries.
Bystanders came to the elderly woman’s aid and scared off Tromski, but she fled before police arrived. The good Samaritans did, however, provide a description of Tromski and her car to police.
That’s how deputies from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office tracked her down on Wednesday, August 22. They spotted her car in Northfield Center Township and arrested her.
Tromski is being held in the Summit County Jail.
Further details were not immediately released.
