SANDUSKY, Ohio — An Ohio woman who authorities say was drunk when her car went into a river, killing a 4-year-old, has pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide.

Lindsey Gundlach, of Huron, pleaded guilty Monday to aggravated vehicular homicide in Erie County.

Her car plunged into the Huron River in December with her friend's 4-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter inside. The children's mother went into the river, but only the girl could be rescued from the vehicle before it became submerged.

Gundlach had a blood-alcohol content of 0.127 percent, above the legal limit.

Authorities say Gundlach had been backing out of her friend's driveway and didn't stop when she reached a road. Her car went across the road and into the river.

A message seeking comment was left with her attorney Tuesday.
