It might be Ed Sheeran’s most important performance ever.
On Sunday, Sheeran granted Triona Priestley’s last wish, and sang to her over the phone, according to PEOPLE.
Priestley, 15, had been battling cystic fibrosis for years. She passed away just minutes after the phone call.
Sheeran sang “Little Bird” to Priestley — it was her favorite song.
A Twitter campaign prompted the surprise; friends and family of Priestley posted Tweets directed at Sheeran with the hashtag #SongForTri, according to PEOPLE.
