DETROIT, Mich. -- The father of one of the two children found dead in their mother's freezer is speaking out.

Last week, a bailiff performing an eviction on a home in Detroit called 911 after finding the body of female child in a freezer. Police later found the body of a boy as well. Both were in a plastic bag.

WXYZ reports that the children's mother, Mitchelle Blair, allegedly admitted to killing them.

Autopsies determined the two children, Stoni Blair and Stephen Berry, were beaten to death. Berry also suffered thermal injuries. Investigators believe Stoni was 13 when she died, and Stephen was 9. They think Stephen died in August 2012 and Stoni died the next May.

Alex Dorsey is Stoni's father and is also the father of another of Blair's daughters. He told WXYZ he didn't understand why Blair stopped letting him take his daughters for visits two years ago because he lost his job and didn't have money. He said Blair would tell him Stoni wasn't home, and he would talk to his oldest daughter, 17, at the door.

"Two years," Dorsey told WXYZ. "Every time I asked, she was never there. She was sitting right there. Lord have mercy, she was sitting right there."

WKYZ reports the state is trying to take away his 17-year-old daughter, and a petition says he abandoned his girls and failed to take legal action to obtain parenting time. It also says he owes $39,000 in child support.

Blair also had two other children living with her at the home. They've been placed with a relative, and child welfare officials say they were horribly abused.
