WESTLAKE - Two residents in Westlake got into an altercation on Tuesday that could have turned out very badly.
William Keener, 67, pulled up next to a 64-year-old woman and her 71-year-old husband. The woman was driving and words were exchanged with Keener.
According to police, Keener purposefully crashed his car into the couple's car several times.
The couple and Keener both pulled over on Detroit Road, just east of Crocker Road. Keener is accused of getting out of his car and threatening to kill the couple.
The male in the car placed his hand on his gun and told Keener he had a concealed carry permit. Keener said he also had a concealed carry permit, grabbing a .45 from his waistband.
Keener then dared the other man to draw his weapon.
Several officers responded and thankfully no shots were fired. Another .45 was found inside Keener's glove compartment.
He was arrested and both guns were confiscated. He was charged with two counts of felonious assault, two counts of aggravated menacing, two counts of possession of criminal tools, criminal damaging and criminal mischief.
His bond was set at $5000 and he was issued a protection order to stay away from the couple. He is set to appear in court on June 2.
