WESTLAKE, Ohio — An Elyria woman dubbed the “cleaning fairy” burglar has pleaded guilty.

Westlake police say Susan Warren, 53, broke into a home on Dover Center Road back in May and started to clean while the homeowner was upstairs asleep. The homeowner woke up, went downstairs and noticed things moved around, along with a note written on a napkin, police said.

The bill said, ‘I cleaned your house. Please send $75, name, and address,’ said Westlake police, who added that Warren had never been hired by that homeowner.

Shortly after the incident, Warren said in an interview that she’d been a cleaning woman for nearly 20 years, and that she only opened the door to the home and left the bill on a napkin.

Warren pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted burglary Tuesday. She’ll be sentenced Nov. 26.
