CUYAHOGA COUNTY — Westlake City Schools are closed today due to widespread power outage issues on the west side of Cleveland.

Students who were picked up by buses will be transported to their buildings, according to the district. Parents are then asked to pick up their children at their respective buildings.
If parents are unable to pick up their child, they are asked to contact their child’s school office.
More than 7,500 customers in Cuyahoga County were without power this morning.
According to FirstEnergy, as of 8 a.m. about 7,865 were without power. The bulk of the outages were in Westlake, where there were about 4,300 outages. In Bay Village, about 1,187 were without power. In Lakewood, there were 1,800 outages.
As of about 8:15 a.m., FirstEnergy officials said the power was restored to most customers.
The outage was weather-related, according to FirstEnergy.
