CLEVELAND — Week 2 of FOX 8’s award-winning ‘Friday Night Touchdown’ kicked off this evening.

There are multiple games on the slate tonight.

Week #2 of ‘Friday Night Touchdown’, fueled by Conrad’s, airs tonight at 11:00 p.m.

Join John Telich, P.J. Ziegler, and Dan Coughlin each week for highlights from more than 20 local high school football games.

And, each week during the 2018 high school football regular season, we will nominate four great match-ups.

Students, staff, players, coaches, fans and FOX 8 viewers are invited to cast their votes for the schools they would like to see receive extended coverage, both on-air during ‘Friday Night Touchdown’ and online at the Friday Night Touchdown page.

The winning game will be announced live Thursday on FOX-8 News at 10:00 p.m.

Community collecting cards, messages of support for injured Huron wrestler

HURON, Ohio (WJW) -- The Huron Tiger Wrestling Moms are requesting that community members send cards and well-wishes to a high school athlete who was recently hospitalized.

Huron Tiger Wrestler KeAndre Moore was injured over the weekend while competing in a team duel. The sophomore ruptured his pancreas and is looking at a recovery time of four months to a year.

‘Field of flags’ lights up Washington DC ahead of inauguration

(AP) — Inaugural organizers on Monday finished installing some 200,000 small U.S., state and territorial flags on the National Mall, a sobering display intended to honor the nearly 400,000 Americans killed in the coronavirus pandemic, as well as represent those who cannot attend the ceremony in person.

President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris plan to take part in an event Tuesday, soon after the president-elect arrives in Washington, at the reflecting pool near the Lincoln Memorial to honor American lives lost to COVID-19.

Cleveland Clinic caregivers work to provide care in and out of the hospital

CLEVELAND (WJW) -- It's often an invisible crisis that the dedicated team of caregivers at the Cleveland Clinic can see clearly. As the coronavirus pandemic continues to rage, so does the crisis among the homeless population who often cannot afford health care.

"We have a very large at-risk population," said Emergency Department RN Brian Holbrook. "So emergency rooms across the United States are the stopgap for health care. For them, a lot of it is we're their primary care, we're their fail-safe."
