Video of a police officer in Rosenberg, Texas playing catch with a little boy has gone viral.

Sgt. Ariel Soltura told KTRK that part of his job as an officer is to interact with the community; so, when he saw a little boy tossing around the football by himself, he stopped and played catch with the child for a couple minutes.

The video was captured on the cruiser’s dash cam.

Sgt. Soltura told KTRK, “It was cool that the public got to see what police officers do on a daily basis. If we see a kid kicking the can, they want us to go out there and replace that can with a ball, and hopefully we’ve made an impact on these kids’ futures for the rest of their lives.”

The dash cam video was posted on the Rosenberg Police Department’s Facebook page and got thousands of shares and likes.
