WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS – Warrensville Heights Mayor Brad Sellers tells Fox 8 that officer Nakia Jones did not violate any social media policies when she posted a video on her personal Facebook page.
The video went viral shortly after it was posted. Officer Jones is currently working her regular shifts.
Jones shared the message after this week’s police-involved shooting of a man in Louisiana; as of Friday afternoon it had more than 6 million views.
Alton Sterling, 37, was shot to death as he lay on the ground with two police officers on top of him Tuesday morning.
Jones says she became a police officer in 1996 to make a difference in peoples’ lives.
“How dare you stand next to me in the same uniform and murder somebody. How dare you. You should be ashamed of yourself,” she said.
