MANSFIELD, Ohio -- Mansfield police say they have a suspect in custody, after someone approached children and asked them if they wanted candy.

Police say the man was walking through an alley in the area of 282 South Main Street on Tuesday, when he walked up to the children and offered them candy. If they wanted the candy, they would have to go with him to get it.

A concerned mother called police to let them know it happened to her children.

Police tell FOX 8's Kevin Freeman a suspect has been arrested, but not charged in this case. Investigators say it will be up to detectives in the Major Crimes Bureau to determine whether charges will be filed against the man, related to this case.

They say he is expected to spend up to five months behind bars for outstanding cases --delinquent taxes and child support-- against him in Crawford County.

If anyone can provide additional information, they're asked to call police at 419-522-1234.
