(WJW) – FOX 8’s award-winning ‘Friday Night Touchdown’ is back for its 27th season and better than ever.

Week #7 of ‘Friday Night Touchdown’ airs this Friday, Sept. 29 at 11 p.m.

The polls are closed and the next FOX 8 Game of the Week of the 2023 season is Wadsworth at Nordonia.

It’s a battle for first place in the Suburban League National Division.

Nordonia (6-0) has been remarkably consistent on both sides of the ball.

The Knights are averaging 32 points per game, while allowing just 14, but they did have to win a shootout over Twinsburg last week, 38-31.

Wadsworth (5-1) is coming off a huge comeback win at Hudson in Week #6, when the Grizzlies fell behind 13-0 at halftime, then rallied to score the final 19 points.

Wadsworth won last year’s meeting 41-14, so Nordonia will be looking to even the score.

Both teams are in position to host a first round OHSAA Playoff game, so Friday’s winner will take a big step toward clinching a playoff berth.

Join P.J. Ziegler, Ken Carman, John Telich, the Commissioner Dan Coughlin and new addition John Sabol, every Friday night for 30 minutes of highlights and analysis from the biggest high school football games across Northeast Ohio.

Each week during the 2023 high school football regular season we will nominate four great match-ups for our FOX 8 Game of the Week.

We will announce the winning game live every Thursday night on FOX 8 News at 10 p.m.
