The vigil for Ty'Shaun Taylor was at Chambers Elementary School in East Cleveland.

"My baby got shot in his heart... I want my baby back, I want my baby back... When I wake up in the morning, I don't see my baby, he the first one up," said Sherri Small, Ty’Shaun’s mother.

Officers and paramedics responded East 97th Street in Cleveland Saturday night. Police said Ty'Shaun was shot in an apartment and then carried outside to Chester Avenue by two other juveniles as they tried to flag down help.

Investigators later learned the resident of the apartment allowed her 16-year-old son to have a birthday party. According to police, she was at a nearby store when the shooting occurred.

"I'm just so hurt every time I walk into my house… And I just, you now want to apologize once again," said the woman who lived in the apartment where the shooting happened.

"It was an honest birthday party and kids, but something did happen and it's gonna be OK... It wasn't her fault," Small responded.

No arrests have been made.

"Ty'Shaun, he was a close friend, I wish he was here... I love you, Ty'Shaun," said one of his friends.

"He wanted to go everywhere, every party that happened. He wanted to go, he just wanted to be like us," said another young friend.

Services for Ty'Shaun are Saturday at St. Adalbert Church in Cleveland. The wake is at 10 a.m. with the funeral at 10:30 a.m. The family started a GoFundMe account to help pay for funeral expenses. You can donate here.
