WICKLIFFE, Ohio- Two Wickliffe police officers pulled two deer from bitter-cold water earlier this month.

The deer were trapped in a cistern in a wooded area near Interstate 90 and Bishop Road on Nov. 10. The officers used ropes to get the frantic animals to safety.

The rescue was caught on video by a resident, who gave the recording to the Wickliffe Police Department.

Police said the cistern is now covered and no longer a hazard.
