LAKEWOOD, Ohio -- Police are looking for two people who stole an ATM from a convenience store in Lakewood.
It happened around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday at the One Stop at Madison and Grace avenues.
Surveillance video shows a minivan backing into the door, but it didn't go the whole way through.
One of the men had to break the cracked glass to get inside. The suspects moved the ATM to outside of the store and stuffed it into the back of the vehicle.
Roughly ten minutes earlier, police say the same guys tried to commit the same crime at the BP in Cleveland on West 140th and Lorain. They weren't able to complete their crime because the gas station door held up and the machine was bolted to the door.
The men did get away. Cleveland police told FOX 8's Stacey Frey that the minivan was stolen from a woman. Police were able to trace it back because her child's homework fell out of the van while the thieves were trying to smash into the BP on Lorain. Both gas stations are open for business as usual today.
