KDVR — Family and friends hope to locate the driver of a truck involved in a hit-and-run accident that injured a 20-year-old man early Saturday morning.

Police say just after midnight Jordan Sweaney was walking a friend home near 77th and Harlan Way when a silver pickup truck sped past, almost hitting him.

According to his family, Sweaney yelled at the driver to “slow down” and hit the back of the truck as it drove away.

The driver of the truck allegedly turned around then drove back to Sweaney and grabbed him by his jersey and sped off.

Sweaney was dragged by the suspect and eventually thrown to the ground.

He was transported to Denver Health where he is being treated for a
broken jaw and fractured skull.

Witnesses describe the suspect as a white male in baseball hat.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Westminster Police Department.
