CLEVELAND – Kevin Lett of Akron is limping, bruised and has some road rash but is grateful to be alive after he and three other people were hit by an SUV that ran through road blocks and into a crowd of people.

It happened on Sunday around 7 p.m. at the ‘Dancin’ in the Streets Fair’ on Clifton Blvd. in Cleveland.

“I felt like a big impact on my back, all along this side and that’s all I remember, big pressure,” Lett said.

Mitchell Andelmo, 27, of Avon Lake died from his injuries. His girlfriend, Constance Pokorny, 25, of Cleveland, was listed in fair condition on Monday night.

Basil Bass, 44, of Cleveland was listed in critical condition.

“I woke up on the ground. Everybody’s looking at me. I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’ They’re like, ‘Don’t move, don’t move,’” Lett said.

Mitchell Andelmo’s father, Henry, posted a statement on Facebook.

“I will miss you. I loved you. You were my best friend and the greatest son a man could ever want and have.  May you live forever in people’s hearts,” the message read.

Many others are mourning his death as well.

“It was tough not to be friends with Mitch. He always had a kind word, he was always the kind of guy to say ‘hi’ as he passed by you,” said Jared Rice.

Rice was Andelmo’s supervisor at a PC Helps where he worked over the phone helping people solve computer problems.

“He really touched a lot of people’s lives, both personally, professionally, it’s a big loss any way you spin it. It’s a devastating loss,” Rice said.

Timothy Spock, 39, of Lakewood, has been charged with aggravated vehicular homicide.

Police said Spock was drunk driving and has three prior OVIs.

“I saw him when they arrested him, he had no facial expression. He looked like a statue. No feelings, not crying, just didn’t care,” Lett said.

Spock is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Tuesday morning.
