CANTON, Ohio (WJW) — A 17-year-old girl from Canton who went missing, believed to be with a 33-year-old man, has been found in Mexico.

Kaitlyn Coones, 17, was reported as an endangered missing child from Canton on April 11 to the Canton Police Department, according to a news release from U.S. Marshals.

Jonathan Jones, 33, was a fugitive wanted by the Wood County Sheriff’s Office for pandering obscene material and child endangerment, according to the release.

Coones was found in Ahumada, a municipality in northern Mexico, according to a Monday update from U.S. Marshals. Jones was arrested.

Jones and Coones were believed to be together and were last seen near the Mexican border in Arizona, according to a previous news release.

The U.S. Marshals Service Missing Child Unit and Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force were involved in the search.
