Two wanted in Akron kidnapping and assault

AKRON, Ohio– Authorities are searching for two fugitives suspected in the kidnapping of a 34-year-old man.

Akron police said Sarah E. Persinger, of Akron, and Richard W. Mallardi, of Wadsworth, invited the victim to Persinger’s Marshall Avenue apartment on Oct. 20. The pair is accused of holding the man against his will and assaulting him.

Persinger and Mallardi are wanted for felonious assault and kidnapping.

Summit County Crimestoppers is offering a reward for information leading to their arrests.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Akron Police Department Detective Bureau at 330-375-2490, the U.S. Marshals Service at 1-844-4-WANTED or Summit County Crimestoppers at 330-434-COPS. Tips can remain anonymous.
