WESTLAKE, Ohio (WJW) — The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Westlake police are investigating after three people were found dead inside of a home just after 11 a.m. Monday.
The home is located at the corner of Cinnamon Way and Willow Run in Westlake. The caller was reportedly checking on a resident at the time.
“When he got here, he saw someone who looked like they were deceased inside so he did the right thing and called police right away, “said Capt. Gerry Vogel from Westlake Police.
Officers responded with firefighters and upon entry made the tragic discovery.
“We found three deceased people, all adults, and they did have gunshot wounds,” said Capt. Vogel.
Two of the victims are male and the third is female All are described as being in their 30s and 40s.
Capt. Vogel says the relationship is under investigation, but it appears they knew each other because there were no signs of forced entry.
“We do want to let the public know we’re not expecting that we’re looking for anybody else that might be a danger to society or anything like that,” said Capt. Vogel.
Two vehicles were towed from the property.
Westlake Police, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office and the Cuyahoga County Coroner are investigating the deaths.
Residents also want answers.
“Neighbors are very sad, scared and praying for their families. I’ve been texting people and they’re just praying because they were good people,” said a woman who asked to only be identified as Lori.
